PureNature

Here, life moves at a slower pace. You make a coffee, take a walk through the forest or read a book while listening to the birds. The forest sets the rhythm.

Tip: walk into the Zwanemeer forest at sunrise or sunset. From the car park of the Zwanemeer outdoor pool, follow the yellow or red marker posts.

Drentsche Aa National Park & the Hondsrug

The campsite is located in the heart of this unique area. Streams wind through the landscape, dolmens lie along the routes and the forest tells its stories.

Along the way, you can settle down on a terrace in a traditional village green.

Zwanemeer forest, burial mounds & prehistory

In the Zwanemeer forest there are 26 burial mounds from the Iron Age. The Konijnenheuvel is the largest. This area is part of a rich archaeological landscape with dolmens, ancient cart tracks and remains of settlements. A walk here is a journey through time.

Breevenen & Geopark De Hondsrug

Directly behind the campsite lies the Breevenen nature reserve: new nature on former farmland. In the mornings and evenings, you can often spot roe deer here.

The UNESCO Global Geopark De Hondsrug shows how ice and water have shaped the landscape.

Boomkroonpad

Between Gieten and Borger lies the Boomkroonpad outdoor centre. Here you literally walk among the treetops. A wonderful experience for young and old.
